  1.     In order to practice listening reading writing speaking

  2.     To develop students to look at the same thing in many ways.

  Step 1.Introductory

  1.    Why do we learn English : the importance of learning English.

  2.    The way of learning English.

Step2 Presentation

   Greet the students “Hi, boys and girls”. Write the sentence on the blackboard. Tell the students that they can greet the teacher with “Hi, Mr/Mrs__”, write it on the blackboard.

Step3 Practice

  1.    Greet the students one by one. Encourage them to answer “Hi, Mr/Mrs___”.

  2.    Let students practise in pairs.

  Make up dialogue and do some proper activities.

  Step 1 Presentation

  1 Prepare some pictures with people of

   different ages and sexes. Show the Ss three pictures with their family names below, they are : a Chinese man , a young Chinese girl and  an old lady . Ask several students to greet them by saying

   “Hello , Mr, Miss or Mrs ---- ” so that

   “ Mr, Miss and Mrs ” are introduced.

  2 More pictures with their full names below can be presented . Let the Ss learn to greet them . For example , this man’s name is Rober White . You can greet him by saying “Hello , Mr White ”.

  Step 2 Reading

   1 Let the students  read the dialogues

   by themselves . And we can ask the Ss to judge when the dialogues happen.

   2 Ask the Ss to read the dialogues once again . Then show the pictures of the people in  Reading and ask the Ss to ask questions according to them like “What’s her/his  name? ” ( Mrs Wang / Mrs Li /Millie)

   3 Group the Ss into three and ask them to read the dialogues and act them out .

  Step 3 Play a guessing game .

   Ask one student  to come to the front .

  Have one student’s eyes covered with cloth , then ask some other students to come to the front and let him guess who  they are using “You’re Lily ,right ?  Yes, I am ./ No, I’m not .” Then encourage them to greet each other using the expressions learned like “How are you ? Fine ,thank you .”

  In this step , students are encouraged to greet

   their classmates by using some other expressions like “ Nice to meet you . How do you do ?” etc.

  Step 5 Assignment   

  1     Read and copy the letters .

  2     Review everyday English .

  Finish some written exercises .

live在这里的意思是“居住”,不及物动词。

如 (a)一Where do you live?你住在哪里?  一I live in Nanjing.我住在南京。

 (b)We live on the fourth floor.我们住在四楼。

3 I like listening to music.我喜欢听音乐。   表示“喜欢做……”时,我们可以用like doing something,也可用like to do something或enjoy doing sth 

  (a)I like reading newspapers in the morning.我喜欢在早上看报纸。  (b)Children like to play games after school.孩子们喜欢在放学后做游戏。  (c)He enjoys playing computer games.(page 8)他喜欢打电脑游戏。

 glass可以指“玻璃”(不可数名词)、“玻璃杯”(可数名词)、“眼镜”(只作glasses)

  (a)Look at the window.The glass is broken.看这扇窗户,玻璃碎了。

(b)There are some glasses on the table.桌上有一些玻璃杯。

(c)Kitty does not wear glasses.(page 10)基蒂不戴眼镜。

   Take a picture of a dog and ask :What’s this ?Then take a picture of a cat and ask “What’ this ?”Stick the pictures of the four children and the two animals on the Bb ,do an exercise T or F

  Step 2.Presentation .

   Point to a student and ask :Is this ---?Help the Ss to answer :Yes /No.

  Take out my own family photo and say: Look !It’s a photo of my family. Walk towards to a student and ask :Is it a photo of your family? Help the student to answer :No ,it isn’t .Make more models using the photos that the Ss have .

  Continue to look at the photo ,say: This is a photo of my family .And who is he ?Have the Ss to guess and present the new words :uncle ,aunt ,cousin using the family tree .

  Step 3.Practise .

   Have the Ss to ask and answer in pairs using their own family photos .  Ask some Ss to come to the front of the classroom and introduce their family members to the whole class .

  ▲陈述句为:It's time for breakfast.句型it's time for的意思还可以用it‟s time to do …来表。如: (a)It's time for playing football.是踢球的时间了。 

  此句可以转化为:It's time to play football. (b)It's time for English class.是上英语课的时间了   此句可以转化为:It's time to have English class. 

  2 Some dogs just don't know how to have fun.一些狗就是不懂得怎么玩。 

  ▲have fun的意思是“嬉戏”,“娱乐”,fun为不可数名词。  fun有时也可以作形容词,意思是“有趣的,令人愉快的”。如:   (a)Swimming in the sea is great fun!在海里游泳是件很有趣的事。  (b)The game sounds fun.这个游戏听上去很有趣。

  It’s good to guide students to understand the text from Millie’s school, friends, study, hobbies and sports, but the way isn’t new and natural enough. What’s more, in class there should be more activities among students.

   

Language points:

  1.Amy is my best friend.埃米是我最好的朋友。  

  ▲best是形容词good的最高级。英语里多数形容词分为原级、比较级和最高级。

  如:  good好(原级)、better较好(比较级)、best最好(最高级)。最高级前一般要加the,但如果前面有my等限定的词,就不用加the了。   (a)My English is good.My Maths is better.My Chinese is the best.我的英语很好,数学更好,语文最好。  

  (b)English is my best subject.英语是我学得最好的科目。 

  2 My favourite lessons are Chinese and English.我最喜欢的课程是语文和英语。 

  ▲favourite是形容词,意思是“最喜爱的”,没有比较级和最高级。如: What's your favourite sport?你最喜欢的运动是什么?

  The students will say:“He’s wearing a shirt ,trousers and shoes.” Then tell the students “He’s wearing a jacket ,a tie and a belt.”

  Teach “jacket, tie , belt” Then ask the students to work in pairs, practise according to the model dialogue.

Using  some / any.   some 和 any 的用法:

1. 共同点:  some 和 any 有“一些”的意思,都是既可修饰可数名词,又可修饰不可数名词。 e.g.  There are some books on the desk.  There is some water in the glass. There aren‟t any oranges in the shop. 2. 不同点:

① some 用于肯定句中;any 用于否定句中。

在疑问句中,表示疑问语气时,用any  e.g.  Is there any milk in the bottle? 

表示说话人征求对方意见或希望得到肯定答复时,用some  e.g.  Would you like some tea?  Can I have some bananas?

1.  I’m going to see the doctor at three o‟clock this afternoon.  我打算下午三点去看医生。  be going to 打算、将要计划好做某事,表达的是将要进行的动作。

   2, Before doing the task, ask students who the audience is. Tell the students to read keywords and expressions in the grid on Page 101 of TB. Get the students to identify any words they do not know. Check and clarify the meanings of those words with the class.
