Unit 3   My friends   (Period 1)

Teaching contents:

Story time

Teaching aims and learning objectives:

a、功能目标:本教时主要围绕人物的单词,学习“介绍朋友”这一功能项目。要求学生能用英语给别人介绍自己的朋友。并会用英语与人道别。

b、知识目标:

1.       能听懂、会读、会说以下单词:goodbye, she, he, my, friend。

2.       能听懂、会读、会说She’s … He’s … 句型。

3.       会运用She’s… He’s…句型介绍自己的朋友。

c、情感目标:

1.  在民主、和谐、宽松的教学气氛中,鼓励学生积极参加小组活动,学会与他人合作共同完成学习任务。

2.  创设与本课有关的各种场景,引起学生学习新知识的兴趣,促使学生积极思考,并通过游戏法调动学生学习的主动性和积极性,在任务型活动中习得语言。

Focus of the lesson and predicted area of difficulty:

1.  单词:she, he, my, friend。

2.      句型:She’s … He’s …介绍自己的朋友。

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Sing a song:

       Good morning

Step 2 Free talk:

T: Hi, S1. I’m Miss ....

S1: Hi, Miss .... I’m S1.

T: Good morning, S2. I’m Miss ....

S2: Good morning, Miss .... I’m S2.

T: Hello, are you S3?

S3: Yes, I am.

T: Good morning, are you S5?

S4: No, I’m not.

Step 3 Presentation and practice:

Play a game: Look, listen and guess.

T: I know who you are. But who are they? (Show some indistinct pictures of the characters)

T: They’re my friends.

Learn: my friends

Read after the teacher.

(1)Picture 1 (Yang Ling)

T: Who is my friend? Please guess.

S1: Are you Miss Li?

Computer: No, I’m not.

S2: Are you Yang Ling?

Computer: Yes, I am.

T: Good, you’re right. She’s Yang Ling. She’s my friend.

Learn: She’s …

a. Read after the teacher.

b. Make sentences in groups.

c. Check:

T: Group One.

S1: She’s … She’s my friend.

S2: She’s … She’s my friend.

S3: She’s … She’s my friend.

S4: She’s … She’s my friend.

……

(2)Picture 2 (Hello Kitty)

T: Guess. Who’s she?

S1: She’s …

S2: She’s …

S3: She’s …

T: She’s Hello Kitty.

(Minnie, Beauty Goat, Barbie)

(3)Play Mike’s voice.

T: Listen. Who is he?

S1: Are you Mike?

Computer: Yes, I am.

T: Can we say ‘She’s Mike’?

Ss: No.

Learn: He’s …

a. Read after the teacher.

b. Make sentences in groups.

c. Check:

T: Group Two.

S1: He’s … He’s my friend.

S2: He’s … He’s my friend.

S3: He’s … He’s my friend.

S4: He’s … He’s my friend.

……

(4)Play Kung Fu Panda Po’s voice.

T: Listen carefully. Who’s he?

S1: He’s …

S2: He’s …

S3: He’s …

      

T: He’s Kung Fu Panda Po.

   (Big big wolf, Lazy Goat, Monkey King)

Step 4 Story time:

1、  Show the characters’ pictures.

T: Who are they? Can you introduce them?

S1: He’s Mike.

S2: She’s Miss Li.

S3: She’s Yang Ling.

S4: He’s Liu Tao.

S5: She’s Su Yang.

T: You did good job. But where are they?

 They are in the classroom. They are having an English lesson.

Computer: Ding, ding, ding.

T: Boys and girls, listen. Class is over. It’s time to say ‘Goodbye’.

Then, what happened? Let’s watch a cartoon.

2、  Watch the cartoon.

3、  Do some exercise:

(1)   Who’s Yang Ling’s friend?

A. Liu Tao     B. Mike

(2)Who’s Mike’s friend?

A. Yang Ling    B. Miss Li

(3) Yang Ling and Mike are          .

4、  Check the answers.

5、  Read the text.

(1)   Read after the tape.

(2)   Read after the teacher.

(3)   Do a role play, read in three.

(4)   Act the dialogue.

Step 5 Consolidation:

T: Yang Ling and Mike are friends. I have a friend in our class.

Who’s she? This is my friend.(Fold the paper, then show it)Please guess.

T: She’s my friend.

S1: She’s …

T: No.

S2: She’s …

T: Yes, you’re right.

Ss take out the paper they prepared before class. Then fold it. Play this game in their groups.

Check.

Step 6 Enjoy a song: Goodbye

T: Time’s up. It’s time to say ’Goodbye’.

Let’s listen to the song.

(1)   Listen to the song.

(2)   Try to sing the song.

Step 7 Homework:

1.      Listen to the tape and read the dialogue fluently.

2.      Introduce your friends to your father or mother.
